My Story

I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit during the 1970s, where the first seeds of faith were planted in my heart. I still remember climbing aboard the church bus each Sunday morning, heading off to Sunday school full of curiosity. Those early years laid a foundation, even though I would later drift away during my teenage years.

At 22, everything changed. I realized that while I had grown up around church, I had never truly repented or made Jesus Christ the Lord of my life. On April 24, 1983, I experienced what I now call my true spiritual awakening. Two weeks later—on Mother’s Day—I was baptized in a local river, surrounded by family and new brothers and sisters in Christ. That moment marked the beginning of my new life in faith.

Now, at 64, my walk with God is stronger than ever. Over the past 42 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of ways—on local church boards, through theological study at the Birmingham Bible Institute, and in hands-on mission work. I've joined teams in places like Johannesburg, South Africa, and led groups to Quito, Ecuador, where we helped lay the foundation for a church addition. Whether across the globe or right at home, my passion is sharing the gospel and reaching the lost with the love of Christ.

More recently, God has opened a new door for ministry: writing. I never set out to become a writer, but the Lord placed it on my heart to use words as another way to encourage fellow believers and reach those still searching. Through writing, I’ve found a way to share truth, offer hope, and help others experience the transforming grace of Jesus.

When I reflect on my journey, I often say that my faith has been “a steady light through life’s storms.” It’s my anchor—and I long to share that light with others.

Outside of ministry, I’m a proud grandfather and a lover of history. I enjoy reading, learning, and spending time with those the Lord has placed in my life. People often say I have a quiet kind of wisdom, and I pray that through a listening ear or a timely word, I can be a source of encouragement and strength.

Wherever God leads next, I’m ready. Whether through conversation, missions, or the written page, my heart remains the same: to bring hope, truth, and the love of Christ to everyone I meet.
